Exchange Program

history

In order to develop networking and collaboration among researchers in the field of Peace Education and Conflict Studies, SEACSN gives fellowship grants twice a year through the Exchange Programme. This Programme allows a researcher from a participating SEACSN member country to visit another participating country for the duration of not more than a month to conduct a study with the help of a host institution. The grant amount is at $2,500.

Individuals interested in the Exchange Programme should send in their application to the Regional Coordinator together with:

  • the research project proposal
  • the name and address of the host institution as well as a letter of acceptance from them
  • an itinerary of the trip, including purpose, length of stay and expected outcome
  • the Curriculum Vitae of the researcher applicant.

Research projects should tackle any of the SEACSN themes and issues and must be topics outside their home countries. Examples of previous successful research projects were “Malaysia’s Role in the GRP-MILF Peace Negotiations”, “Intra-ASEAN Co-operation Toward Transforming the South China Sea Conflict: Problems and Prospects from the Vietnamese Perspective”, and “Potential Conflicts Between the Hmong-Thai and the Native Thai in Thailand”.
